As the name suggests Turnip House was once the turnip store and few can believe the transformation it has undergone. Now a cosy cottage with a double bedroom on a minstrels gallery. A wood burning stove provides a welcoming focus in the centre of the lounge. Relax on the sofa or curl up in one of the tub chairs listen to the CD player or watch a DVD on the digital television. The views from the window are of the orchard where red squirrels scamper around the walls & trees.
The wall dividing the lounge & kitchen was built using the original timbers from the stables and gives the cottage an "old world feel". However, there is nothing old when it comes to the kitchen, with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave oven, automatic washing machine & fridge.
Polished oak floors throughout are covered with scatter rugs, full oil central heating maintains an ideal temperature in both summer & winter. The original roof trusses and floor joists show us the skills that are in evidence in this timeless corner of England.
The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a pedestal basin, bath, WC & power shower. The views from the bedroom window are of Asby Mask, fresh crisp linen, duvets & tea towels are provided.
