Step from your door into the beautiful orchard, cross the paddock, check out the free running chickens and choose which way to walk. Down into the village with the church, pub (Three Greyhounds) and village school, left towards Asby Scar, over the fields along the footpath to Gaythorne Hall or cross the beck, making your way to Pate Hole . There are hundreds of walks, interesting vernacular architecture and an abubndance of flora and fauna, many unique to the area. Town Head Farm Cottages a great place to stay !
A little further afield are an amazing selection of attractions Durham City with its iconic cathedral, Hardian's Wall, York & its Minster, the Yorkshire Dales, the English Lakes, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Beamish Museum not to mention the famous Carlisle-Settle railway line .
